The Rutgers Muslim Student Association is proud to host its second annual Road to Revival conference on February 2nd. Focused on tazkiyah (purification) of the heart, the conference aims to provide knowledge, motivation, and inspiration for those individuals seeking to strengthen their connection to Allah. As all matters ultimately relate back to the state of the heart, we encourage you to attend this beautiful gathering organized to help you on your journey towards purification. For this is essentially the heart of the matter…

The struggles one faces in this life are countless. We all aim to better ourselves as we grow older, yet are constantly faced with trials that test our emotions, patience, and faith. For some, those trials may lead to frustration that can often be taken out on parents, siblings, spouses, or friends. Others may harbor feelings of sadness or disappointment that result in a lack of spiritual motivation or effort. Some might be angry and consequently behave in an immoral manner. And others may simply be looking to be reminded of the meaning life holds…and to spiritually revive themselves on this journey of life.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! Seats are limited, so register now at www.rutgersr2r.com!

RU vs Louisville Football Social!

Insha’Allah next Thursday (11/29) is the last football game of the season and it is a home game against Louisville (for those who have been following RU football, this is their biggest competitor in the Big East conference). ALM & SOS (brothers social and sisters social respectively) will be coordinating a social event and would love to have everyone go to the game together. The plan is to meet up outside the College Ave student center at 6:30 PM

on Thursday, and from there we will take the designated buses to the stadium (traffic on Busch will be crazy and this would be the most efficient way to get directly to the stadium).

If you would like to join, please MAKE SURE to claim your FREE student ticket TONIGHT (11/21) at 9 PM when they become available for students. This is the last game of the season and it is a huge game so expect the tickets to be gone within hours! Here is the link to the ticket page where you would have to sign in. Click “Online Student tickets”

http://scarletknights.com/tickets/students/index.asp

BROTHERS can contact: Saad Khan at ALM@ru-msa.org

SISTERS can contact: Yusra Syed at SOS@ru-msa.org

If Islam is a peaceful religion, why are many Muslims violent?
Was Islam spread by the sword?
Why aren’t there anymore prophets?
Why do Muslims pray to a black box?

It’s that time of the year again! Get into the Eid spirit and join us for MSA’s BIGGEST event of the semester!

As college students, our education is always priority. We stress about exams and focus on maintaining our GPA but sometimes neglect our responsibilities as Muslims. We think that we will turn our attention to our deen once we are accomplished and have reached a certain point in life. But is there a way we can attain success in our deen and in this duniya?

“Improve your secret and private life, and Allah will improve your public and social life. Make matters well between you and Allah, and Allah will make matters well between you and people. Work for the Hereafter and Allah will be enough for you in your worldly concerns” [Imam Sufyaan AthThawri, rahimahuAllah]

Join us on November 8th for RU-MSA’s Annual Eid Banquet in the Busch Student Center Multipurpose Room to get a glimpse of those who have attained success in this duniya WHILE maintaining their deen!

Our performer for the night, Omar Regan, is a Muslim comedian and most known for playing the role of Chris Tucker’s stunt double in Rush Hour 2. Using entertainment and humor to promote tolerance and build bridges across racial, religious, and social divides, his mission statement is a direct reflection of his last name: Reflect Excellence, Gratitude And Nur.

Our speaker for the night, Ibtihaj Muhammad, is known for being the first person wearing a hijab to represent the US at the Olympics. She is a member of the United States Fencing Team and is the first Muslim woman to represent the United States in an international competition. Ibtihaj is ranked 3th in the US and 11th in the world for fencing.

Come celebrate Eid with a night of great talks, entertainment, and AMAZING food from Sahara’s Restaurant!!

Dress for the occasion and make sure to bring your friends!

EVENT PARKING:
